The Ander-Weser Volunteer Fire Department (AWVFD) is proud to serve the communities of northern Goliad County, Texas, and beyond as a dedicated, all-volunteer, non-profit organization. In addition to responding to local emergencies, we actively participate in mutual aid efforts to support neighboring fire departments across the region and surrounding areas.

Mutual Aid Availability

We stand ready to provide mutual aid assistance whenever needed. Our department is committed to helping other fire departments during wildfires, structure fires, brush fires, or other incidents where additional resources can make a critical difference. This support extends throughout Goliad County and to adjacent counties in South Texas.

How to Request Mutual Aid

Requests for mutual aid from the Ander-Weser Volunteer Fire Department can be made directly to our department. This streamlined process allows for faster response times when time is of the essence.

Our Apparatus Ready for Mutual Aid

We bring reliable, high-capacity equipment tailored for rural and wildland firefighting:

  • 1 x 3,000-gallon tanker — Ideal for water supply and shuttle operations in areas with limited hydrants.
  • 1 x 1,000-gallon heavy brush truck — Built for rugged terrain, off-road access, and aggressive wildfire suppression.
  • 2 x 500-gallon brush trucks — Versatile units for quick initial attack, mop-up, and support roles.

These resources, combined with our experienced volunteer firefighters, enable us to deliver effective support in a variety of emergency scenarios.

We value our partnerships with other fire departments and are always prepared to assist. Together, we strengthen regional fire protection and keep our communities safe.
